A month or two ago, amidst the toil that is year end exams a good friend of mine gave me some music. This good friend happens to share a similar taste in music, books, movies and tv shows and so I put a lot of faith in his recommendations. He's always talking about bands I should listen to. On this particular day, the conversation began the same, but ended differently. After making yet another suggestion, he had an idea. Taking possession of my ipod he began filling it with music from his laptop. He filled it twice, having to go back a delete songs he felt weren't as important for me to listen to as others, before adding more again. He took up all the free space I had. All in all, I ended up with 342 new songs and 21.7 hours of new music to listen to. I've been plowing through it all ever since.

          A couple weeks ago he asked me how I was liking it, and asked about one band in particular. I had yet to get to them. Perhaps if I had chosen an alphabetical order instead of a sporadic one, I may have got to them sooner. But alas.
         Today, I felt like something new, so I consulted the playlist I'd created containing all his music and remembered at the last minute that he had mentioned one band in particular. So I hit play.
         I believe they will soon become one of my favourite bands. I am truly excited about them. I won't explain why, but if you're that interested check out Astronautalis's Pomegranate.
